Vehicle Registration and Licensing system, Department of Road Transport, Botswana (January 1998 – December 2001)
Overseeing the support and maintenance of the Vehicle registration and licensing system of Botswana since 1998. The mission critical multidepartmental project was abandoned by its original consultants when DCDM was requested to intervene. Lack of documentation, communication problems over the wide area network (with some sites at 1000 km from the central server) and poor perfomance of the bug-ridden system made the project a great challenge. A team of networking and Oracle specialist from DCDM has now successfully resolved the problems and upgraded the VRLS to latest technology.
